Our Wildlife Education Program
The Sutton Center's wildlife education program makes science learning come alive for individuals of all ages throughout Oklahoma. Our education staff connect with audiences of all sizes—from intimate classroom groups to large community gatherings—sharing Oklahoma's wildlife through live birds, hands-on activities, and field guides.
This year, our wildlife education team is bringing live birds, hands-on science, and a love of wildlife to more than 30,000 people across the state—including 3,000 students through in-person classroom visits.
What Makes Our Program Different
- Real birds, real connections. When students meet our ambassador birds face-to-face, conservation stops being abstract and becomes unforgettable.
- Learning by doing. Every program turns students into scientists with hands-on STEM activities they actually complete—not just watch.

- Reaching rural and underserved communities. Our team travels across Oklahoma to bring conservation learning to students who wouldn't otherwise have access—because every Oklahoman deserves the chance to meet a bird, explore a field guide, and discover conservation.
